Something’s Gotta Give (2003)
This may be my favorite part of this movie, especially that entire exchange in the (gorgeous!) kitchen, when Harry begins to tell Erica what he really thinks of her….
Harry: But I do think you use your strength to separate yourself from everyone. But it’s thrilling when your defenses are down…and you’re not isolated. That, I believe, is your winning combo. Killer combo, actually.
Erica: You know, I can’t decide if, God, do you hate me? Or if you’re the only person who ever really got me.
Harry: I don’t hate you.
Such a wonderful scene. And frankly, I could totally see Tony saying this to Ziva. The whole dynamic feels like them. Both pairings are so flirty yet take such tentative steps toward each other, and it makes me wonder what Tony and Ziva could be like in 20 or 30 years. Or even what they could be like in the near future if they both let their defenses down because then they’d really be a killer combo. Or at least I know they’d slay me.
Yes, I see Tony and Ziva in almost everything these days. Little kid in The Sixth Sense saw dead people everywhere, and I see “Tiva.” Deal with it.
I completely 100% agree. I adore this movie. I adore Diane Keaton, let’s be honest.
